SPRINGFIELD, Mass.—The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) baseball program picked up a signature win over the NCAA Division 2 Yellow Jackets from American International College (AIC) in an exhibition doubleheader split on Sunday, Sept. 29.

Junior captain Dylan Francoeur (Westbrook, Maine) pitched a complete game to help SMCC to a 5-1 victory over the Yellow Jackets in the first game. The SeaWolves fell to AIC 8-3 in the second.

In a post-game interview, Head Coach David Walsh commented, "Our guys fought hard and got behind Dylan on the mound to record a nice win for the SMCC baseball program. I enjoyed exposing these players to NCAA Division 2 caliber baseball and hope to finish the season on a high note next weekend."

The SeaWolves have played to a 10-1 record overall and will get a bye to the Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) Fall Classic championship game on Saturday, Oct. 5. SMCC will take on the winner of the NHTI vs. Central Maine Community College semifinal at 1 p.m.
