AUBURN, Maine – Sophomore Mitchell Quigg (Braintree, Mass.) led the way for the Seawolves (4-0) with two hits and three RBI in four plate appearances as they defeated the Mustangs in eight innings.

Quigg opened the scoring for SMCC in the first inning with a two-run single to center field before adding another RBI single in the fifth. First-year Luke Wearne (Ellington, Conn.) went 4-5 at the plate with a double and an RBI along with two runs scored and a stolen base, while sophomore Gabriel Rivera (Caguas, Puerto Rico) went 2-3 with two RBI and two walks. First-year Ryan Thurber (South Portland, Maine) tallied an RBI single and a sac fly. Sophomore pitcher Jack Falvo (East Hartford, Conn.) started the game and gave up two runs in two and ⅓ innings before handing it off to first-year Matt Eugley (Westbrook, Maine), who earned his first win of the season in five and ⅔ innings of two-hit relief with a pair of strikeouts.

Coach's Thoughts:

"A couple of big innings from our offense helped us a lot in this one, and Matt came in from the bullpen and was really strong for those last five innings. We've put up a lot of runs in our last few games and we're looking to keep that going." – Head Coach Nic Lops.

SeaWolves Stars of the Day:

Luke Wearne: Four hits (double), one RBI, two runs scored, stolen base

Matt Eugley: Five and ⅔ innings pitched, two hits, two strikeouts, two walks
