Baker Logs Career Night As SeaWolves Mow Down Rams

SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine—The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) men's basketball team recorded a season-high point total defeating the Rams from Unity College 106-46 in a Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) contest at The HUB on Thursday, Nov. 21.

Sophomore Colin Baker (East Hampton, Conn.) went for a career-high 27 points in his first start of the season, splashing seven threes on 11 attempts—five coming in the first half. Sophomore captain Ian Regan (Old Orchard Beach, Maine) converted for 17 points and seven assists and first-year Diego Corrada-Mattei (Northampton, Mass.) went for 12 points on 3-7 shooting. Rookie center Cameren Cousins (Wells, Maine) contributed 10 points on a perfect 5-5 from the floor.

SMCC recorded its best shooting night of the season at 49.4 percent from the field on 85 attempts and 44.7 percent from beyond the arc. The SeaWolves totaled 19 steals and 29 assists on the evening—also season highs.

Unity was led by Nicholas Robertson's 14 points; Jacob Hornbook netted 10.

The SeaWolves win their seventh straight to improve to 8-1 overall, 5-0 in conference action. The Rams remain winless at 0-6 on the season.
