SMCC Golf Takes On Beaver Meadow Again, Places Third

CONCORD, N.H.— The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) golf team made its second trip to Beaver Meadow Golf Course to compete in another Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) round on Saturday, Sept. 14.

NHTI placed first in team scoring carding a 343 at its home track. Paul Smith's College finished a close second, 14 strokes behind with a 357, followed by SMCC at 403. The Moose form the University of Maine at Augusta were disqualified from team scoring with too few players in attendance.

SMCC first-year Ethan Laverriere (Alfred, Maine) improved on his score from the week prior shooting a team-low 93; first-year Samuel Winslow (Portland, Maine) turned in a 96 and first-year Chase Locke (Biddeford, Maine) a 101. Sophomore Robert Caron (Naples, Maine) and first-year Connor Ward (Oxford, Maine) rounded out SeaWolf scoring with a 113 and 114 respectfully.

NHTI's Ryan Rothdiener medaled a first place finish hitting a 79 followed by teammate Chris Nelson with an 84. Paul Smith's Sam Lipe placed third individually firing an 85.

The SeaWolves return to the links Saturday, Sept. 21 at Augusta Country Club (Augusta, Maine) for a 1 p.m. tee time.
