SeaWolves Golf Posts First Place Finish At Purpoodock

CAPE ELIZABETH, Maine—The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) golf team placed first in a three-team match at Purpoodock Golf Club on Sunday, Oct, 13.

The SeaWolves scored low shooting a 381 ahead of University of Maine at Augusta's 495. Bridgton Academy was disqualified from team scoring with too few players in attendance.

SMCC medaled all three individuals led by first-year Ethan Laverriere (Alfred, Maine) who turned in a season best 88. First-year Connor Ward (Oxford, Maine) placed second overall shooting a 94, also a season best, and first-year Samuel Winslow (Portland, Maine) took home a third place finish with a 95.

Sophomore Robert Caron (Naples, Maine) posted a 104 followed by first-year Guy Tinkham's (Westbrook, Maine) 124.

SMCC finishes its regular season sporting an average team score of 382.2.

The SeaWolves take a shot at the Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) Championship at Pease Golf Course in Portsmouth, N.H. on Saturday, Oct. 19.
