QUINCY, Mass.— The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) men’s soccer team was defeated 4-0 by Quincy College in a non-conference match on Monday, Oct. 8.

Quincy found the back of the net in the first half, and three more times in the second to command a 4-0 victory. The SeaWolves landed eight shots on goal—the opposition 17 to force first-year Camden Labrecque (Saco, Maine) into 13 saves.

In a post-game interview, Head Coach Brian Dougher reflected, “Hats off to Quincy—a talented squad. I’m proud of the effort from my guys, as we were short-handed and suffering some injuries. Now the focus turns to our two remaining conference matches with playoff implications on the line.”

The result pushes SMCC to 4-5-2 overall; Quincy gets back to .500 at 4-4-0 overall.

The SeaWolves return to their Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) slate on Saturday, Oct. 13 when they travel to the University of Maine at Machias (0-11) for a 3 p.m. kickoff. WATCH.
