BRIDGTON, Maine—The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) men's soccer team defeated the Wolverines of Bridgton Academy 3-1 in a non-conference game on Friday, Sept. 20.

The Wolverines went ahead in the early goings to lead at the half 1-0. The road team scored three unanswered goals in the second half beginning with first-year Keto Tchiputo (Portland, Maine) at the 56:00 minute-mark—stripping a defender to finish a one on one with the Bridgton keeper.

Rookie forward Mohamed Matan (Lewiston, Maine) put SMCC ahead 10 minutes later on a thru ball delivered from first-year Joel Musese (Auburn, Maine) and then it was Tchiputo again nearing the end of regulation on a pass across the goal mouth from Matan.

SMCC outshot its opponent 17-12 to capture its sixth win of the season.

First-year goal keeper Christopher Ferguson (Casco, Maine) picked up his first decision, making six saves.
