RANDOLPH, Vt. – The Seawolves (1-4-1) only allowed one shot on goal from the Knights of Vermont Technical College (0-6) as they cruised to a shutout victory on Saturday, Sept. 17.

First-year Josh Fadden (Lebanon, Maine) and senior Eriksen Shea (Freeport, Maine) both scored early to put SMCC out front, with Fadden scoring at the 3:59 mark and Shea following up with a goal at 6:04. Senior Dylan Weyeneth (St. Agatha, Maine) found sophomore David Wilson (Merrimac, Mass.) for the Seawolves' third and final goal soon after the second half began at 46:34.

SMCC's defense held strong for the full 90 minutes, limiting Vermont Tech's attack to one shot on goal that was saved by first-year goalkeeper Andrew Pike (Berwick, Maine). Thomas Ferguson made nine saves in goal for the Knights.

Coach's thoughts:

"A great showing from our defense today to make it easy on Andrew, and we did a good job of getting ahead early with a couple quick goals. Feels good to get in the win column, we hope to get on a roll from here." – Head Coach Brian Dougher.

Seawolves Stars of the Game:

Pike: Shutout, one save

Fadden, Shea, Wilson: one goal
