Ray Magnant enters his third season as Head Coach of the SMCC softball program. In his first two seasons, Magnant led his Lady SeaWolves to a combined 36-20 mark (.643), 14-4 in Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) play. In both seasons Magnant earned YSCC Coach of the Year honors.

Prior to SMCC, Magnant served as the Varsity Head Softball Coach at Biddeford High School for two seasons, posting a 30-8 record (.790) over that time, reaching the semi-finals in 2015, and delivering a state championship in the Spring of 2016.

Previous to his coaching stint at Biddeford, Magnant served three seasons (2012-2014) as the Varsity Head Softball Coach at Massabesic High School, making two playoff appearances. Magnant also managed the U16 Southern Maine Flame, a summer travel team of the Amateur Softball Association (ASA), for one season in 2014.

Magnant was a key contributor in organizing the Southwestern Maine Activities Association (SMAA) Senior Softball All-Star Game in 2015 and has extensive experience in managing camps and clinics at the youth level.

Magnant resides in Biddeford, Maine and is a Biddeford High School Hall of Fame Inductee.
