Chris Caswell enters his fourth season as Head Softball Coach at Southern Maine Community College.

Caswell led the Seawolves to a historic 2025 campaign, finishing with a 32-7 overall record and an undefeated 12-0 YSCC regular season—earning both the YSCC Championship and the program's first-ever USCAA National Championship title. Caswell was named YSCC Coach of the Year for his efforts.

The 2025 season saw four players named YSCC All-Conference and four earn USCAA All-American honors, including First Team selections for Sarah Wilkins, Delanie Perry, and Cameron Crerar. Emily Hutchins received Honorable Mention honors, while Hutchins and Wilkins were also named USCAA Academic All-Americans. Sarah Wilkins was named YSCC Player and Pitcher of the Year, and the department’s Leslie Barteaux Scholar Athlete of the Year.

Caswell has now coached the Seawolves to two USCAA National Tournament appearances and compiled 51 wins in three seasons, transforming the program following a multi-year hiatus.

Previous to his appointment at SMCC, Caswell served as Head Softball Coach at Dover High School (N.H.) for two seasons (2020, 2021), and as Head Coach of the Lady Cannons U-16 and U-18 teams for three seasons. He also did a stint at the helm of the Granite State Elite U-18 team and the Granite State National Team. The Maine native graduated from Massabesic High School where he played varsity baseball.

In addition to his duties at SMCC, Caswell works as the Director of Facilities for the YMCA Sanford branch. Caswell resides in Alfred with his wife Rose and his three daughters Hailey, Hannah, and Emma.
