SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine—The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) women's soccer team continued its perfect start on Saturday, Sept. 15 defeating Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) opponent Paul Smith's College (PSC) 4-0.

Sophomore co-captain Callie O'Brien (South Portland, Maine) jump-started the SeaWolf offense scorching a ball by PSC's keeper Kailee Puzzo at 17:29 before assisting fellow forward Jessica Haskell (Saco, Maine) to double the SMCC lead before halftime.

It was O'Brien again for her 10th cap of the season from first-year midfielder Katelin Bennett (Freedom, Maine) at 62:26. Junior Sophia Zidow (Scarborough, Maine) joined in for her first collegiate goal catching the keeper off her line from distance to make it 4-0 with under seven minutes to go.

First-year goalkeeper Dana Sirois (Saco, Maine) and SMCC's back four logged their third shutout of the season to improve on their goals-against-average—now 0.80.

In a post-game interview, Head Coach Ethan Wells reflected, "This is a tough group of ladies—everyone contributes significant minutes to this team's success. It's especially great to see us improve as the game goes on and maintain our physicality when we may get stretched thin by numbers."

SMCC improves to 3-0 in conference action, 5-0 overall. Paul Smith's slips to 0-4 YSCC, 0-6 overall.
