SMCC Defeats Great Bay In Four Sets

SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine – The Seawolves (6-4) dropped the first set to the Herons from Great Bay Community College (0-4) but stormed back to take the next three sets and earn the victory at the HUB Athletics Center.

Great Bay claimed set one 25-22 after getting out to a quick lead, but SMCC held them to 18 points or fewer across each of the next three sets, outscoring the Herons 25-10, 25-18 and 25-16 for the 3-1 win.

Sophomore Rachel Pardi (Portland, Maine) finished with 14 kills, one dig and 21 service points to lead the Seawolves while sophomore Katie Ewings (North Yarmouth, Maine) had 10 kills and an assist. First-year Anna White (Buxton, Maine) tallied six kills and seven digs and first-year Jordan Bickford (Cumberland, Maine) recorded five kills, an assist and 10 digs. Sophomore libero Emelia Lamie (Rochester, N.H.) had 11 digs.
