Four Achieve USCAA All-Academic Status

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va.— The Southern Maine Community College men’s and women’s soccer teams celebrate four student-athletes who were named to the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) All-Academic team, announced at the Fall Championship Awards Banquet in Virginia Beach on Thursday, Nov. 10. Those who achieved All-Academic status were Hannah Fields (Shapleigh, Maine), Bronson Kieltyka (Monmouth, Maine), Harrison Charwat (McLean, Va.), and Douglas Cloutier (Berwick, Maine).

To achieve USCAA All-Academic status, student-athletes must hold a 3.5 grade point average (GPA) or higher and have completed at least 24 credits.

Fields, a sophomore and co-captain of the women’s soccer team, has earned a 3.91 GPA and has completed 35 credits to date. A Dean’s List student, Fields is studying Business Administration and plans to graduate with her Associate’s Degree in May. She intends to transfer to a four-year institution to complete her Bachelor’s degree.

Kieltyka, a sophomore and co-captain of the men’s soccer team, is working towards his degree in Business Administration and has achieved a 3.83 GPA over 35 credits completed. In addition to taking a full course load of 15 credits this semester, Kieltyka serves as President of SMCC’s Chapter Phi Theta Kappa and also as a member of the Business Club.

Charwat, also a sophomore and member of the men’s soccer team, has earned a 3.79 GPA and has completed 43 credits to date; he is working towards his Sport Management degree.

Cloutier, a sophomore co-captain of the men’s soccer team, is on the Pre-Engineering track. Cloutier has earned a 3.78 GPA over 37 credits completed.
