2018 YSCC Elite-8 Tournament Preview

CONCORD, N.H.— The 2018 Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) Elite-8 Tournament will be held on the campus of NHTI in Concord, N.H. tipping off Thursday, Feb. 15 with the conference champions crowned Sunday, Feb. 18.

Women’s Basketball Tournament Seeding:

  1. Central Maine (16-0)
  2. Me.- Augusta (13-3)
  3. Southern Maine (12-4)
  4. NHTI (10-6)
  5. Me.- Machias (8-8)
  6. Vermont Tech (5-11)

Women’s Quarter-Final Schedule- Thurs. Feb. 15

6:00 pm           #4 NHTI vs. #5 Me.- Machias
8:00 pm          #3 Southern Maine vs. #6 Vermont Tech

Women’s Quarter-Final Schedule- Sat. Feb. 17

12:00 pm         #1 Central Maine vs. Winner of NHTI/Me.- Machias
2:00 pm           #2 Me.- Augusta vs. Winner of Southern Maine/Vermont Tech

The Lady SeaWolves will match up with Vermont Technical College on Thursday, Feb. 15 at 8 p.m. in the quarter-final round. SMCC defeated the Knights in both regular season meetings this season, first by 31-point spread and again 77-60.

A win on Thursday would push SMCC through to the semi-final game to play the University of Maine at Augusta on Saturday, Feb. 17 at 2 p.m. The Moose will be coming off a first-round bye as the #2 seed.

6:00 pm           #1 NHTI vs. #8 Paul Smith’s
8:00 pm           #3 Vermont Tech vs. #6 Unity

Men’s Semi-Final Schedule- Sat. Feb. 17

4:00 pm           Winner of NHTI/Paul Smith’s vs. Winner of Southern Maine/Me.- Machias
6:00 pm           Winner of Central Maine/Me.- Augusta vs. Winner of Vermont Tech/Unity

The SMCC men’s basketball team will square off with the University of Maine at Machias on Friday, Feb. 16 at 4 p.m. The SeaWolves made it a season sweep defeating the Clippers 89-71 on the road in December and again 104-70 at The HUB in January.

Should the SeaWolves move on, they will meet the host school NHTI in the semi-final round on Saturday, Feb. 17.

The All-Conference awards banquet will take place Friday at 12 p.m. on the campus of NHTI.
