John Dakin (Administrator and Coach 1967-2002) From 1967-2002 John was the Director of Athletics, along with stints as basketball and baseball coach.  On the hardwood, at time of induction he ranked as the leader in coaching victories at the college with 199. His teams won five conference titles during that stretch.   On the baseball diamond, Dakin led his teams to seven conference titles.

Dakin was the face of the Athletic program.  He helped oversee the construction of the HUB Athletic Center as well as the development of the Graves Athletic Field.  The Athletic Department has its “Outstanding Contribution” Award named after him.
