SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine—The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) baseball team started a new win streak on Monday, April 1 defeating the NCAA Div. 3 Terriers from Thomas College 4-2.

The Seawolves got on the board first, in the second inning, when sophomore captain Dante Tocci (Portland, Maine) drove in junior Liam Cooledge (Westbrook, Maine) on a single to left field. Thomas took over in the third inning with a two-run single by Matt Seymour.

The Seawolves quickly responded with a game-tying, RBI-infield single by first-year Brady O'Lone (Fort Myers, Fl.) in the fifth inning. O'Lone delivered again in the seventh, ultimately securing the win, with a two-run double to center field.

O'Lone's standout performance included three hits in four trips to the plate. First-year Quinn Dillon (Gorham, Maine) also recorded a multi-hit game and a walk.

On the pitching side, sophomore Thomas Knott (Winterport, Maine) started for SMCC and went five innings, allowing two runs on five hits. Sophomore Gabe Aucoin (Bath, Maine) tossed three innings to pick up the win and Bennett Smith (Falmouth, Maine) came in for relief, shutting down the Terriers' offense for the remainder of the game.

Jarrad Willette started on the mound for the Terriers, going five innings and giving up two runs. Andrew Pruell came out of the pen for three innings and was taxed the loss.
