Seawolves Lose Early Lead and Drop Game Against the Clippers

South Portland, ME. The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) men's basketball team lost an early lead to Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) opponent the Clippers of the University of Maine Machias (UMM) by a score of 71-60. The Seawolves were up at half time by a score 37-28 shooting better then 50% from the floor but the Clippers out scored the Seawolves 39-20 in the second half to get the win.

Freshman Guard Jon Amabile (Portland, ME) came off the bench to lead the Seawolves in a losing effort with 14 points and 4 rebounds. Sophomore guard Emmanuel Donalson (East Orange, NJ) had 13 points, 4 rebounds, 2 steals and 2 assists while sophomore point guard Jose Nouchanthavong (Westbrook, ME) added 9 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists.

SMCC drops to 18-8 overall and 11-3 in conference play. The Seawolves will be back in action this Tuesaday February 5th as the travel to rival Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) opponent New Hampshire Technical Institute (NHTI). Game is scheduled to start at 8:00PM.
