Auburn - In this afternoon's basketball action the Seawolves of SMCC used a balanced scoring attack, getting 16 individuals in the scorebook, to overcome the Seawolves of the University of New Brunswick - St. John by a score of 84-52.
Guards Jon Amabile (Portland, ME) and Scott Proudman (Steep Falls, ME) led the fast paced, outside shooting offensive charge for SMCC scoring 14 and 10 points respectively. While point guard Jose Nouchanthavong (Westbrook, ME) led the team with six assists, while contributing nine points and five rebounds. SMCC also buckled down on defense causing UNB to commit 26 turnovers and outrebounding UNB by 12.
The Seawolves of UNB-St. John were led by Nick Huggard (Sussex, NB, CA) and Jarred Crawford (Quispamsis, NB, CA) who each contributed 11 points and combined for 12 rebounds and eight assists.
With this win the Seawolves improve to 2-0 overall. They will return to action on Friday November 1st at home against Holyoke Community College at 8pm.
