Seawolves Execute Down the Stretch to Pick up Win

South Portland – Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) used 73.7% shooting from the free throw line in the second half and went 6-8 from the line in the final 2 minutes of the game to finish with a 79-74 win over Bridgeton Academy.

SMCC (4-0 overall, 0-0 YSCC) took a 41-30 halftime lead and controlled the offensive glass in the second half to secure the win.  Freshman Atencio Martin (Kittery, ME) paced the Seawolves with a career high 26 points and 9 rebounds to lead all scorers on the night.  Jose Nouchontanvong (Westbrook, ME) was steady as well scoring 12 points and dishing out 9 assists.Bridgton was led by Rayon Miller with 15 points on the loss.  Bridgton now stands at 0-1 on the season.  The Seawolves take to the floor again Saturday when they play host to the Rams on Navy Prep for a 2pm tip off.
