Seawolves Prevail Over Eagles

Bangor - With just seconds remaining in tonight's YSCC men's basketball action the Seawolves found themselves sporting only a three point advantage when team captain, point guard Jose Nouchanthavong (Westbrook, ME) iced two free throws to put the Seawolves up by five and seal the 74-69 victory.

Trailing by two points at the half, 32-30, the Seawolves rallied at the break to outscore the Eagles 44 to 37 in second half action. The bulk of the Seawolves offense came from the threesome of Nouchanthavong, Antencio Martin (Kittery, ME) and Tong Akot (Manchester, NH). Nouchanthavong ended the contest with 19 points, Martin also chipped in 19 points and seven boards and Akot had a team high 20 points and grabbed eight rebounds. The Golden Eagles were led by guards Jared Gregory (St. Petersburg, FL) and Bryan Candelario (San Juan, Puerto Rico) who chipped in 13 points.

With this win the Seawolves improve to 14-4 overall and 8-1 in YSCC conference play. The Seawolves will return to action on January 17th at the Naval Prepatory Academy at 6pm.
