Seawolves Sink Falcons

Presque Isle-  In this afternoon's Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) action, the traveling Southern Maine Community College men's basketball team used pressure defense and offensive contributions from 15 different players to pick up the win versus host Northern Maine Community College.


SMCC, through full court pressure, was able to force the falcons of NMCC into 18 turnovers which led the Seawolves to convert those turnovers into 28 points, giving them the 115-67 win.  The Seawolves also got strong play on the offensive glass with 24 total offensive rebounds.

Pacing the Seawolves were junior point guard Jose Nouchantavong's (Westbrook, ME) 16 points, 5 steals, and 5 rebounds.  Matching him in the points column was backcourt mate sophomore Scott Proudman (Steep Falls, ME) who netted 16 points on 6 of 12 shooting from the floor.  

The Seawolves men now stand at 15-5 on the season and 9-1 YSCC.  SMCC will be back in action on Wednesday night, 1/22/14, as they host the traveling Moose of The University of Maine at Augusta.  Game time is slatted for an 8pm tip off.
