Seawolves Down Rams

South Portland -  In tonight's YSCC conference basketball action the Seawolves outrebounded the Rams of Unity College 55-39 and dished out 33 assists en route to a 121-84 victory. The Seawolves scored 80 of their 121 points in the paint, being led by center Tong Akot (Manchester, NH) who shot a stellar 83% from the field and paced the Seawolves with a team high 22 points.

Dishing out one third of the teams 33 assists was point guard Jose Nouchanthavong (Westbrook, ME) who ended the contest with 11 assists, 14 points and seven steals. Shooting guard Atencio Martin (Kittery, ME) also had a great shooting night going 7-10 from the floor, netting 14 points, while guards Scott Proudman (Steep Falls, ME) and Davis Nicholson (Hitchin, Herts UK) chipped in 12 and 11 points respectively. Forward Jacob Loveridge (Chertsey, England) grabbed a team high nine rebounds to go along with seven points. 

The Rams were led by sophomore guard Eddie Kopacz (Thompson, CT) who scored a game high 27 points while going 6-7 from the charity stripe. Rams' Jared Straight (Palmer, AK) and Jacob Scoville (Machias, ME) each scored 18 points.

With this victory the Seawolves improve to an impressive 17-6 overall record and 11-2 in conference play. The Seawolves will be back in action on Saturday February 1st against the University of Maine -Presque Isle at 3pm.
