Mustangs Trample Seawolves

Auburn - Tonight the Mustangs of Central Maine Community College proved why they are ranked #1 in the nation in the USCAA as they ran away with the 97-64 victory against the Seawolves of SMCC. The Mustangs forced the Seawolves into a season high 40 turnovers, outrebounded the Seawolves by a margin of 48-36 and caused the Seawolves to shoot a mere 18% from beyond the arc. 

The Seawolves were led by shooting guard Scott Proudman (Steep Falls, ME) who scored a team high 14 points on 7-12 shooting from the floor. Point guard Jose Nouchanthavong (Westbrook, ME) knocked down 11 points with nine of those coming from the charity stripe and Atencio Martin (Kittery, ME) came off the bench to contribute 11 points on 3-6 shooting and 4-4 from the free throw line. 

Pacing the Mustangs were Shaun Hill and Carrington Miller who both came off the bench to score 27 and 16 points respectively. The duo combined for 67% shooting from field, going 16-24 from the field and 4-6 from beyond the arc.

The Seawolves slip to 20-7 overall and 13-3 in YSCC play. They will participate in their final regular season contest on February 15th at 3pm against Vermont Technical College.
