Seawolves Get Back On Track With Win Over NHTI

South Portland - In last night's back and forth battle between the Seawolves and the Lynx of NHTI the Seawolves picked up a much needed 89-82 victory to put an end to their four game drought.

The Seawolves held just a three point advantage, 46-43, at the break but they started the second period with a 15-5 run to chalk up a 13 point lead, their largest of the game. The Lynx responded with a run of their own and a Taylor Lawrence three pointer at the 6:00 mark slashed the Seawolves lead to two, 71-69. Three consecutive layups by SMCC's Dylan Silvestri (Pelham, NH), Jack Tolan (South Portland, ME) and Jordan DeRosby (Waterville, ME) stretched the Seawolves lead to eight and solidified the SM victory.

The Seawolves put eleven people in the scoring column last night with Silvestri and shooting guard Grayson Waterman (Berwick, ME) each recording a double-double. Silvestri ended with 13 points and 11 rebounds while Waterman added 14 points and 10 boards. DeRosby scored a team high 15 points and Tolan added 12.

Lynx shooting guard Dayvon Russell scored a game high 22 points and teammate Taylor Lawrence pitched in with 17. Both players connected on four makes from beyond the arc.

With this win the Seawolves improve to 4-7 overall and 2-2 in conference play. They will be back in action on Saturday with another YSCC contest against the Clippers of UMaine-Machias at 2pm.
