SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine— Southern Maine Community College Athletics and its basketball programs will hold the 9th annual Timothy D. Hagerman Memorial Alumni Games inside the HUB Gymnasium on the South Portland campus Saturday, Feb. 8. These games are named in honor of Timothy Hagerman, a beloved teammate of the men’s basketball program from 2005-08. Timothy, a back-to-back conference champion, passed away of cancer in 2011.
Women’s Alumni Game—11:45 a.m.
Men’s Alumni Game—12:30 p.m.
The day continues when the SMCC women’s basketball team plays host to Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences at 3 p.m. followed by the men’s game at 5 p.m. All alumni, family, and friends are invited to attend the games and after a reception to celebrate the continued support of the scholarship. The reception will be held at Bayside Bowl (58 Alder St, Portland, ME 04101) beginning at 7:30.
SMCC Athletics asks alumni participants to make a $20 donation for which all proceeds are given to the Timothy D. Hagerman Scholarship. This scholarship is awarded to a returning men’s basketball player who puts his team before himself and is a positive member of the SMCC community.
