SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine—The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) men’s basketball program plans to host its 10th annual high school SeaWolves Summer Shootout inside the Hutchinson Union Building on the South Portland campus Friday and Saturday, July 10-11.
The event has drawn teams from Maine, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts and is available to any high school program seeking participation. The two-day jamboree typically attracts 20 to 24 teams with the focus on giving players unique matchups against out-of-region opponents.
Director of Athletics and Head Men’s Basketball Coach Matt Richards states, “This event has been one that we can showcase outstanding facilities and quality matchups to participating high school programs throughout New England. It also allows SMCC Men’s Basketball to make connections with coaches and players in hopes to promote basketball across the region.”
