2022 Golf Schedule Announced

SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine—The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) golf team will play to defend its 2021 Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) championship with a five-match regular season slate in 2022.

The SeaWolves will open regular season conference competition again at Loudon Country Club (Loudon, N.H.) on Saturday, September 10 before traveling to Montague Golf Club (Randolph, V.T.) a day later to round out the weekend—where SMCC turned in a first place finish a year ago.

The team gets back to action a week later on September 18 at Meadows Golf Club (Litchfield, Maine), an event hosted by the University of Maine at Augusta, ahead of hosting at Purpoodock Golf Club (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) on Sunday, September 25 and again on October 2.

Should the SeaWolves qualify to attend, the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) two-round National Tournament is scheduled at Penn State University for Oct. 9-11.

SMCC will conclude its season at the YSCC Championships at Pease Golf Course (Portsmouth, N.H.) on Saturday, October 9. The event is hosted by Great Bay Community College and tee-times begin at 9:00 a.m.

Head Coach AJ Burton returns for his second year at the helm commenting, “This upcoming season will be an exciting one for our team—coming off a conference championship and making a run down at the national tournament with a 7th place overall finish. Returning key contributors from last season’s team in Zach Trembley and Al Doughty brings experience that will help lead the charge. We can’t wait to get started in August and add our incoming freshman!”
