Seawolves Shutout Central Maine 3-0

Seawolves Shutout Central Maine 3-0

The men’s soccer team recorded their tenth conference victory of the season with a 3-0 win over Central Maine Community College.  It took some time for the Seawolves to get going, but Blais Whitney (Cornish, ME) eventually found Wadhah Al-Shammari (Portland, ME) for the winning goal in the forty-third minute.    Kyle Ehlers (Ludlow, VT) and Whitney provided insurance goals in the second half assisted by Peter Dore (Westbrook, ME) and Sam Burr (Northeast Harbor, ME) respectively.

The Seawolves’ defense limited Central Maine to just eight shots in ninety minutes.  Freshman keeper Corey Grigas (Hardwick, MA) recorded three saves in the shutout.

The Seawolves are alone atop the Eastern Division of the Yankee Small College Conference and look to remain unbeaten at home as they close out the regular season against Unity College on Saturday, October 15th at 2:00PM. The team is currently 10-0-1 in conference play and 10-2-1 overall.
