Seawolves Shutout Mustangs 4-0

South Portland, ME. The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) men's soccer team beat conference rival Central Maine Community College (CMCC) by a shutout score of 4-0. The Seawolves scored two goals in each half and controlled the ball for most of the game to overcome the Mustangs.

Veteran Seawolves Peter Dore (Westbrook, ME)  and Kyle Ehlers (Ludlow, VT) led the way for SMCC.  Dore ended the game with 2 goals and 1 assist while Ehlers contributed 3 assists on the day. The first goal came just one minute into play when Dore assisted sophomore Wadhah Al-Shammari (Portland, ME). Dore followed that up with a goal at the 13:30 mark, assisted by Ehlers. 

The Seawolves delivered another blow early in the second half, as Ehlers assisted freshman Kyle Steifken (Vassalboro, ME) in the 48th minute. Ehlers assisted Dore five minutes later to finish off the scoring drive. 

Freshman Dakota Bush (Casco, ME) and Robby Griffin (Union, ME) shared time in goal defensively.  Both goalies recorded 1 save and allowed 0 goals. 

SMCC moves to 2-1 overall and 2-0 in conference play.  The Seawolves are on the road this weekend traveling to the University of Maine-Machias on Friday for an 8:00 PM game.  They follow that up with a 4:00 PM game at Eastern Maine Community College on Saturday.
