Seawolves, Mustangs End in Deadlock

South Portland After 110 minutes of YSCC conference soccer action the SMCC Seawolves ended in a 1-1 deadlock with the Mustangs of Central Maine Community College.

The Seawolves fired first when midfielder Bojan Sikima (Laconia, NH) got the ball up to midfielder Jacob Freeman (Fayette, ME) who found the back of the net at the 16:30 mark. The Mustangs answered quickly when Brandon Morissette (Leeds, ME) chipped in a goal on a pass from Dylan Mawhinney (Dixfield, ME) at 25:19. The remainder of regulation and the two overtime periods of play were all about defense, the Mustangs managed 17 shots and the Seawolves came up with 39 but neither team could convert those shots to goals.

After tonight's contest the Seawolves move to 4-3-1 overall and 3-1-1 in YSCC conference play while the Mustangs are 4-1-1 overall and 4-1-1 in conference. The Seawolves will return to action on Saturday September 28th at the University of Maine–Machias at 3pm.
