Knights Come From Behind to Defeat Seawolves

South Portland - This afternoon the Knights of Vermont Technical College (VTC) rattled off two goals in a three minute span late in the second period to solidify a comeback 2-1 win over the Seawolves.

The Seawolves got into the scoring column early when Sean Jackson (Berwick, ME) drilled a ball from 30 yards out into the back of the net, giving SMCC the 1-0 lead. The Seawolves would hold on to that one goal advantage until the 71st minute when Knights' midfielder Matthew Brien headed in a crossed ball from teammate Olivier Durand. Three minutes later VTC's Yohan Avila nailed a 35 yard bomb past Seawolves goalkeeper Spencer Hoyt (Rochester, NH) putting the Knights on top 2-1 and eventually giving VTC the victory.

After today's loss the Seawolves slip to 0-2-0 overall and 0-1-0 in conference action. Their next game will be against conference opponent, Hampshire College on Sunday September 7th at home at 3pm.
