Seawolves Overcome Black Sheep to Get First Win

South Portland - After getting off to a slow start in the 2014 season, the Seawolves' found their rhythmn today as they shutout the Black Sheep of Hampshire College and came away with a 2-0 victory, picking up their first win. 

In the 32nd minute of play Seawolves' newcomer Sean Jackson (Berwick, ME) chipped a pass to teammate Steve Rwendeye (Portland, ME) who was able to find the back of the net and give SMCC a one goal advantage. The offense for both teams remained quiet until eight minutes remaining in regulation when Patrick Duddy (Sedgwick, ME) found forward Jack Carter (Saco, ME) on a breakaway and placed the ball perfectly for Carter to be able to beat the defense and get the score. Jackson and Duddy led the squad in shot attempts with five and four respectively.

This win gives the Seawolves a 1-3-0 overall record while they improve to 1-1-0 YSCC action. They The Seawolves will be back on the field on Thursday September 11th at Bowdoin College (JV) at 4:30pm.
