Jackson Leads Seawolves Past Clippers

South Portland - In this afternoon's soccer contest the Seawolves faced off against conference rival UMaine - Machias who defeated SMCC twice in the 2014 season. Today however, the Seawolves got their revenge, holding the Clippers scoreless and coming away with the 2-0 triumph.

SMCC midfielder and captain, Sean Jackson (Berwick, ME), netted both Seawolves' goals to carry his team to victory. Jackson's first goal came at the 17:30 mark when he crossed up the Clippers' keeper and placed a slow rolling ball straight into the net. The second goal came off a breakaway with just ten minutes left in the contest, giving the Seawolves' a comfortable lead and the momentum to contain UMM for the remainder of the game.

With this win the Seawolves improve to 2-2-1 overall, 1-0-0 YSCC. Next up for SMCC is an away game at Central Maine CC on Wednesday September 16th at 4:30pm.
