Owls Soar Past Seawolves

Owls Soar Past Seawolves

South Portland - This afternoon the Seawolves hosted USCAA opponent, UMaine-Presque Isle without standout midfielder Douglas Cloutier (Berwick, ME) who was benched due to an injury suffered during yesterday's game. SMCC felt the impact of not having Cloutier as they fell to the Owls, who picked up just their second win of the season, 3-0.

The Owls scored two goals in a four minute span in the first half to take a 2-0 lead after 45 minutes of play. The Seawolves managed eight shot attempts in the first but were unable to capitalize due in part to the efforts of Owls' keeper Caleb Bragg-Grady. In the second half Mohamed Abukar found the back of the net for the second time in the game to put the Owls in front 3-0. The Seawolves came up empty handed on their six shot attempts in the second half and UMPI cruised to the 3-0 victory.

The Seawolves, now 6-5-1, conclude their regular season with a home game against the College of St. Joseph's on Wednesday at 3pm.
