Casey Scores, SeaWolves Fall In Final Seconds

QUINCY, Mass.— The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) men’s soccer team suffered a 2-1 defeat to NJCAA-opponent Quincy College on Wednesday, Oct. 11.

In the hole 0-1 at the half, SMCC first-year Hanssen Casey (Eliot, Maine) finished on a corner kick delivery from Samuel Marshall (Eliot, Maine) to equalize with his fourth cap of the season. With 20 seconds remaining in regulation, Quincy’s Thiago Carvalho scored the game-winner off a deflection to push the SeaWolves to 2-7-1 overall, Quincy to 3-4 overall.

The SeaWolves return to action on Saturday, Oct. 14 when they play host to the 4-2-1 (YSCC) Clippers of the University of Maine at Machias at 3 p.m. SMCC will enter play at a 2-10-1 clip against Machias spanning the previous five season—both wins coming at Wainwright.
