Pat-Trick Powers SMCC Over Machias

MACHIAS, Maine—The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) men's soccer team took care of business 6-1 over the Clippers from the University of Maine at Machias in a Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) match on Saturday, Oct. 13.

The SeaWolves put two away in the opening minutes of the game and another before the first half expired. SMCC piled on three more in second half action before the Clippers ruined the shutout with one of their own—their seventh goal of the season.

Senior Patrick Duddy (Sedgwick, Maine) scored three—the first hat trick of his career. Sophomore Yaroslav Philbrook (Chernigov, Ukraine) netted two, one on a free kick opportunity, and sophomore Hanssen Casey (Eliot, Maine) collected the other SMCC goal—his team-leading fifth cap of the season.

SMCC improves to 5-5-2 overall, 4-0-2 in YSCC play; Machias remains win-less at 0-13 overall, 0-7 in league action.

The SeaWolves step back on the pitch in Auburn for a non-conference match vs. Central Maine Community College on Thursday, Oct. 18. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. LIVE STATS.
