SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine— Head Coach Brian Dougher returns for his 17th season at the hem of the men’s soccer program and ahead of a 14-game regular season schedule to defend the team’s 2019 Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) title run and United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) national tournament appearance.

The SeaWolves finish their preseason with an exhibition match at Saint Joseph’s College of Maine on Aug. 27 and dawn the regular season at home against NJCAA-opponent Massasoit Community College on Aug. 30.

SMCC hosts USCAA Div. 1 and the former national champion Bengals from the University of Maine at Fort Kent on Sept. 2 before a trip to Haverhill, MA to battle Northern Essex Community College on the 8th.

The men open a five-game home stand with the Community College of Rhode Island (NJCAA) and in-state rival Central Maine Community College (CMCC) before conference competition with Vermont Technical College on Sept. 18 and NHTI on Sept. 21.

The SeaWolves will spend the weekend in New York to get Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences and Bryant and Stratton College (Albany) on Sept. 25-26 and then return to welcome Bridgton Academy for a mid-week date on the 29th.

Oct. 2 will feature a home match with Paul Smith’s College on Alumni, Friends, and Family Weekend before the SeaWolves move on with travel to Hampshire College, CMCC, and Bristol Community College (NJCAA) to round out the regular season.

The 2021 season will feature a six-team YSCC postseason format with a #3 vs. #6 and #4 vs. #5 play-in round the weekend of Oct. 16-17. The Final Four stage will be held at NHTI (Concord, N.H.) Oct. 23-24 with a chance at a bid to the USCAA National Tournament in Virginia Beach, Va. Nov. 11-15.

All home soccer games are played at Wainwright Recreation Complex at 125 Gary L. Maietta Way in South Portland.
