Lady Wolves Breeze By Herons In Portsmouth

PORTSMOUTH, N.H.—The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) softball team defeated the Herons of Great Bay Community College (GBCC) in both games of a Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) doubleheader under the lights on Thursday, Apr. 18.

The Lady SeaWolves scored a combined 47 runs in 10 innings to boost their runs-per-inning to 7.4 on the year. In both games, the damaging SMCC offense got off to a fast start to enact the eight-run rule after five. The SeaWolves won the first game 19-1 and the second 28-1.

SMCC pushes its win streak to four games and improves to 11-8 overall, 5-3 and second in the conference standings behind NHTI (7-1). The Herons remain winless at 0-8 this season, 0-2 YSCC.

The SeaWolves return to the diamond Tuesday, Apr. 23 when they play host to Central Maine Community College for another conference twinbill beginning at 3:30 p.m. LIVE STATS.
