Lady Seawolves Roll Over Hampshire

South Portland - The defensive pressure and fast paced game of the Lady Seawolves proved too much for the Lady Black Sheep of Hampshire College in tonight's YSCC conference basketball action as SMCC overpowered Hampshire by a score of 85-32.

Leading the way for the Lady Seawolves were guards Stefanie Saavedra (Columbia, SC) who contributed 14 points, six rebounds and Danielle McCusker (South Portland, ME) who dropped in 15 points and grabbed nine rebounds and forward Nyalieb Deng (Portland, ME) who racked up her second double double of the season with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Also make big contribtions for the Lady Seawolves were freshman guard Zyrah Giustra (New Sharon, ME) who chipped in nine points and nine rebounds and senior point guard Esther Palmieri (South Portland, ME) who dished out nine assists to go along with five steals and five points. 

Lady Black Sheep Monica Soto went 4-4 from the charity stripe, putting up eight points and grabbing seven rebounds and Alissa Graf who racked up 10 rebounds to go with seven points.

With this win the Lady Seawolves improve to 3-1 overall and 1-0 in conference while the Lady Black Sheep drop to 0-3 in conference play.The Lady Seawolves will return to action Saturday November 16th at Vermont Technical College at 1pm.
