The SeaWolves found themselves down three points when the horn sounded to end the first quarter, but outscored the opposition 44-29 in the second and third. SMCC limited the Lions to 13 fourth quarter points to avoid any notion of a comeback by the team from Canada.

Sophomore Amanda Brett (Portland, Maine) started her season with a bang totaling 28 points on an extremely effective 13-15 from the field in 32 minutes of work. Junior Nyakuoth Mach (Des Moines, Iowa) scored 18 in her SeaWolf debut and sophomore captain Abigail Ramirez (Methuen, Mass.) picked up where she left off a season ago recording another double-double at 12 points and 11 rebounds—also contributing six assists and six steals.

For the Lions it was Ariane Dore who scored a team-high 22 points and recorded seven steals.
