AMHERST, Mass.—The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) women's basketball team remained unbeaten after thrashing the Black Sheep of Hampshire College 85-18 in a Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) contest on the road Saturday, Nov. 17.

The Lady SeaWolves recorded their second-highest point total of the year to keep with a perfect record 7-0 overall, 3-0 in conference play. SMCC defeated Hampshire for the 12th time in program history in as many contests to hand the Blank Sheep their fifth loss of the season.

In a post-game interview, Head Coach Katie Bergeron commented, "Our bench play was uplifting. It proved to our staff that we are deep with many unique skill sets—and if we can strategically make use, we are a dangerous club as we move through our conference schedule."

Bergeron improves to 50-14 (.781 win percentage) in her career, near two and half seasons at the helm of the SMCC program.

The action continues when the SMCC women look to get even at the Augusta Civic Center on Tuesday, Nov. 20 where they fell to the Moose from the University of Maine at Augusta 62-60 a year ago. The YSCC showdown will tip at 6 p.m. WATCH.
