In a post-game interview, Head Coach Katie Stannard commented, “I am proud of our women for fighting through a challenging environment and to the very final whistle—it’s a matter of a couple possessions in the third quarter. This team can compete with anyone and I’m looking forward to the opportunity on our home floor this postseason tournament. An important rematch comes this Saturday with Machias.”

The result leaves SMCC 20-5 overall and 11-4 in conference action. CMCC wins its fifth consecutive and locks up the YSCC #1 seed at 22-2 overall, 14-1 in league play.

The women conclude the regular season on Saturday, Feb. 15 when they meet the Clippers from the University of Maine at Machias with hopes to avenge a first-half loss. Tip-off at The HUB is scheduled for 4 p.m.
