Perron Hired as Women's Soccer Coach

SOUTH PORTLAND, ME - Southern Maine Community Colleges Athletic Director, Matt Richards, announced the hiring of Adam Perron as the new Head Women’s Soccer Coach. Perron will take the place of Tom Munroe who coached the past six seasons. 

Perron a current resident of South Portland, ME has been active in the soccer community with the coaching stints with the youth development team, South Portland Strikers, Varsity Coach at South Portland High School and also across town at Deering High School. 

Perron graduated from the University of New England (UNE) with a B.A. in Science, majoring in Occupational Therapy.  While at UNE, Perron played varsity soccer for four years and was a two year starter.  Perron is currently working as a community life coordinator for Portland Adult Education. 

Perron is excited to get started on building a strong program with a sense of team and community.  “I am looking to come in and create an environment that induces pride and growth within the program.  With clear and concise goals, the athletes and the program as a whole will build toward success,” stated Perron. 

“I feel Adam brings the right mix of coaching experience and vision of recruiting quality student-athletes to SMCC.  I am excited to have him lead our program,” said Matt Richards.
