Desjardins Hat-trick Propels Seawolves over CMCC

South Portland, ME. The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) women's soccer team beat conference rival Central Maine Community College (CMCC) this afternoon 6-1. The Seawolves scored three goals in each half and controlled the ball for most of the game to overcome the Mustangs.

Freshman forward Michela Desjardins (Fort Kent, ME) led the Seawolves with 3 goals and 2 assists. Sophomore midfielder Bethany Gullbrand (Portland, ME) contributed 2 goals and 1 assist while junior Casey Garrapy (Underhill, VT) tallied 1 goal and 1 assist.  

The Seawolves defense limited CMCC to just 5 shots in 90 minutes. Freshman goalie Erica Desjardins (Saco, ME) recorded 4 saves on the day. 

SMCC moves to 2-1 overall and 1-0 in conference play.  The Seawolves are on the road this weekend traveling to the University of Maine-Machias on Friday for a 6:00 PM game.  They follow that up with a 2:00 PM game at Eastern Maine Community College on Saturday.
