Women's Soccer Falls to Saint Joe's (JV)

South Portland, ME. The Southern Maine Community College women's soccer team lost to non-conference opponent Saint Joseph's College of Maine junior varsity team, 3-1. The women battled evenly on the wet and muddy field.  After a scoreless first half,  the Seawolves got on the board with a goal from freshman Michela Desjardins (Fort Kent, ME) that was assisted by Shannon Blanchard (Windsor, ME). Saint Joe's would answer with three goals over the next eighteen minutes to steal the win.

The Seawolves move to 5-4 overall and remain 3-2 in conference play.  The women host conference foe UMaine-Machias in an important match on Saturday at 1:00 PM. SMCC is currently ranked 3rd while Machias is ranked 2nd in the East Division of the Yankee Small College Conference.
