SMCC Handles St. Joe’s in Scorcher

South Portland The visiting Monks of St Joseph's College arrived in today's sweltering heat to find themselves unprepared for the Lady Seawolves' offensive exhibition. The "Wolfpack" slid in seven goals with 22 shots on net, led by forward Michela Desjardins (Fort Kent, ME) and midfielder Emma Bonneville (Belfast, ME) who chipped in two goals apiece and midfielder Jessica Reed (Bedford, MA) who assisted three of the Seawolves seven goals.

SMCC newcomers Cassandra Dumond (Dixfield, ME) and Sarah Clifford (Alton, NH) each netted their first career goal and defender Ali Waterman (Apple Valley, CA) capped off the SMCC offense by capitalizing on a direct kick from 40 yards out. Waterman also anchored the Seawolf defense with teammates Shannon Blanchard (Windsor, ME) and Sydney Choate (Richmond, ME). The trio gave up only two shots for the contest, helping lead the Seawolves to a 7-0 victory.

With this win the Lady Seawolves improve to 1-1-1 overall and 1-0-1 in YSCC play, while the Monks drop to 0-1-0.

The Lady Seawolves will be back in action Friday September 13th at 3:00pm at home versus the University of Maine – Augusta.
