SMCC Notches Tie Against Unity to Secure Home Playoff Game

South Portland The visiting Rams of Unity College arrived to the Graves Athletic field to take on the home Lady Seawolves needing a win to obtain home field for the upcoming Yankee Small College playoffs. Behind the offense of Sarah Clifford (Alton, NH) and the net keeping by Sydney Proctor (Saco, ME) the SMCC women recorded a 1-1 tie which will give them home field advantage for the Wednesday October 16th rematch against Unity.

Clifford started the scoring in the first half for SMCC with an unassisted goal, her second of the season, mid-way through the half.  Unity tied it back up with a Penalty kick less than a minute later.  The score would remain tied through regulation time and two overtime sessions.

With this tie the Lady Seawolves improve to 4-4-4 overall and 3-2-2 in YSCC play, while the Rams drop to 4-5-2 on the season.
