SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine—Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) women's soccer earned its fourth victory of the season in a 5-2 result over the Huskies from Word of Life Bible Institute (WOLBI) on Friday, Oct. 1.

Junior captain Paige Lord (Pittsfield, Maine) scored her first on a corner kick redirect before the Huskies evened it with a break-a-way finish at 5:57. Lord tucked another on a volley and converted a corner kick, all inside the 21st minute.

Word Of Life's Kiera Pipeling tallied her second of the contest before halftime to leave the score 3-2.

The SeaWolves waited until 84:45 to gain separation by way of a free kick off the foot of sophomore captain Desiree Veilleux (Winslow, Maine). First-year Bella Russo (Casco, Maine) found the back of the net for her first of the year before time expired in the 90th minute.

SMCC goalkeepers recorded five saves to help the team improve to 4-3 overall.
