SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine—The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) Women's Soccer team was shutout 4-0 by the Bobcats from Paul Smith's College (PSC) in a Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) contest on Saturday, Oct. 2.

Before the contest, the SMCC coaching staff honored junior captain Paige Lord (Pittsfield, Maine) and sophomore Jordan Ott (Lisbon Falls, Maine) with a special recognition ceremony in celebration of their final home game on Senior Day and Alumni, Friends, and Family Weekend.

Paul Smith's wasted no time jumping on the scoreboard in under a minute and again at 5:17. Nathalie Ross delivered another goal for the road team on a long-range shot that found the far post in the 25th minute—PSC led 3-0 at the half.

Hayleigh Gates put the game out of reach on a score off a corner kick in the early stages of the second half.

The result pushes SMCC to .500 on the season and 1-3 in conference play. PSC keeps their undefeated season at 6-0 overall, 3-0 YSCC.

League action continues when the SeaWolves travel to Central Maine Community College for the second of two regular season meetings on Wednesday, Oct. 6. Kickoff in Auburn is set for 5:00 p.m. under the lights.
