SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine—The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) women's soccer team played to a 2-2 draw against the Warriors from Massasoit Community College in non-conference play Wednesday, Sept. 14.

Both teams traded goals in the first half as first-year Chanelle McDonough (Gorham, Maine) converted a penalty kick for her second cap of the year. Captain Jordan Boone (Norridgewock, Maine) netted her first of her sophomore campaign, also by way of penalty kick minutes leaving halftime.

SMCC conceded a free kick goal inside two minutes remaining in regulation that evened the score at 2-2. With seconds on the clock and yet another penalty kick awarded, SMCC was unable to put this one by the Warrior goalkeeper, Ailish Olmstead.

SMCC first-year goalkeeper Mia Pasciuto (Littleton, Mass.) notched eight saves in 90 minutes of work.

The result pushes SMCC to 0-0-3 overall; Massasoit stands 1-0-1.

The Lady Seawolves open Yankee Small College Conference play on Saturday, Sept. 17 when they travel to Vermont Technical College for a 2:00 p.m. kickoff.
